Obesity remains high on the health agenda

9th May 2013

According to the latest figures from the Department of Health 61.3 per cent of adults in England are now overweight or obese.

News from the Daily Mail, shows that around 80 people in every 100,000 turn to surgery in efforts to control their weight.

Pretty extreme don’t you think?

If you ask any health expert the most effective way to lose weight is through a combination of diet and exercise. Diet changes and physical activity alone are unlikely to yield the desired results. Being overweight can lead to a number of health concerns including diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure.

It is recommended that adults (aged 19 – 64) should participate in 75 minutes of vigorous exercise per week (150 minutes of moderate).

Speedflex can be a great way to help manage your weight. The high intensity nature of the exercise means the body burns high numbers of calories and more fat than other exercises. The resistance element of the session combined with the high intensity means the body craves more oxygen, elevating your metabolism. Many users have dropped stones (and dress sizes) in weight.
